Dr. Andres Piscoya is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle specialist currently practicing at Naval Medical Center San Diego. With a strong foundation in general orthopaedics and a special focus on complex foot and ankle conditions, Dr. Piscoya brings a wealth of clinical expertise, surgical precision, and military discipline to his practice.
A Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Medical Corps, Dr. Piscoya completed his orthopaedic foot and ankle fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Prior to that, he trained at the distinguished Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he completed both his orthopaedic surgery residency and a dedicated research fellowship in Clinical and Experimental Orthopaedics.
Dr. Piscoya earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Arizona State University, graduating cum laude.
An accomplished researcher and educator, Dr. Piscoya has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented at leading national conferences in orthopaedics and military medicine. His research spans foot and ankle biomechanics, trauma care, peripheral nerve regeneration, and surgical outcomes. He has been recognized for his academic and military service with honors including the AOFAS Resident Scholar Award, the Joint Services Achievement Medal, and the Joint Commendation Service Medal.
