Dr. Sivasundaram is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, shoulder, hip, and knee surgery. His clinical expertise includes advanced minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and reconstructive joint surgery. He has specialized training in the field of joint preservation procedures, including modern cartilage restoration techniques, shoulder arthroplasty, and arthroscopic hip preservation surgery.
Dr. Sivasundaram is accomplished in both clinical and laboratory research and has authored more than 70 scientific manuscripts and textbook chapters that have received national recognition and awards within the field of sports medicine and shoulder. He has previously been invited to lecture on these topics both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Sivasundaram was born and raised in San Fernando Valley. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from UCLA, where he graduated cum laude. He received his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at USC, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society and graduated with a Distinction in Research. Dr. Sivasundaram completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
He subsequently completed a one-year fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL; frequently recognized as a premier hospital for Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery. During this time, he served as an assistant team physician for the Chicago Bulls (NBA) and Chicago White Sox (MLS).
In his spare time, Dr. Sivasundaram enjoys staying active with weightlifting and traveling.
