Dr. Lindsey Spragg is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee. With a strong passion for helping athletes and active individuals return to their favorite sports and activities after an injury, Dr. Spragg combines her expertise in sports medicine with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by athletes. As a former Division 1 soccer player at Northwestern University, she brings a unique perspective to her practice, ensuring a personalized approach for each patient.
Dr. Spragg earned her Doctor of Medicine from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude and being inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She went on to complete her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Southern California (USC), where she received the USC Senior Research Award for her work on anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) grafts. Dr. Spragg further honed her skills during her Sports Medicine Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Orange County, where she served as team physician for local high schools and junior colleges, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries.
Dr. Spragg is currently practicing at Beach Cities Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Hermosa Beach, CA, where she has been serving the community since 2017. She is the team physician for West High School, Chadwick School, and El Camino College, providing on-field coverage and medical care for athletes across various sports. Dr. Spragg’s expertise in treating both pediatric and adult patients with athletic injuries, fractures, and other musculoskeletal conditions allows her to provide comprehensive care to a broad range of individuals, from young athletes to older adults seeking to maintain an active lifestyle.
Dr. Spragg’s research interests include ACL reconstruction, particularly the effects of autologous hamstring graft diameter on the likelihood of revision surgery. She has contributed to several publications in prestigious journals, including the American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM) and Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics. Her work has also been presented at national conferences, further cementing her role as a thought leader in sports orthopaedics.
