Dr. Marie N. Dusch, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgeon based on California’s Central Coast. She is a full-time partner at Central Coast Orthopedics, where she provides comprehensive surgical and nonsurgical care for disorders of the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow. Dr. Dusch treats a wide range of conditions including fractures, arthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, nerve compressions, and complex reconstructive cases. In addition to her elective practice, she serves her community by taking general orthopaedic call at Marian Regional Medical Center, a Level II trauma center, where she manages acute upper and lower extremity trauma and emergency orthopaedic conditions.
Dr. Dusch earned her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with honors from Stanford University, graduating at the top of her class and receiving the prestigious Mason and Marsden Prize for excellence in academics and research. She went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, where she was honored with the Steinhart Award as a promising future surgeon. Dr. Dusch completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Southern California and advanced her expertise through a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Recognized as a leader in her field, Dr. Dusch was selected for the American Orthopaedic Association’s Emerging Leaders Program and currently serves on the Board of the California Orthopaedic Association, where she advocates for high-quality and ethical orthopaedic care throughout the state. She is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, and the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society, through which she mentors aspiring orthopaedic surgeons.
