Dr. Borenstein is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon in Pasadena, California who specializes in lower extremity ailments, with a focus on foot and ankle conditions. Additionally, he focuses on musculoskeletal trauma, and general orthopedic conditions of the knee, hip and upper extremity. He is a partner at the Huntington Orthopedic Institute.

Dr. Borenstein’s patients span from pediatric to geriatric, and amateur to professional athletes. For every patient, the first step to healing is a proper diagnosis. Dr. Borenstein and his team are committed to taking the time to accurately diagnose your condition, present and explain treatment options, perform surgery, and expertly guide you during the rehabilitation process.

Education and Training
Dr. Borenstein completed fellowships in Trauma and Foot and Ankle surgery at the esteemed Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Brown University. He completed his residency at Brown University, and medical school at Tulane University where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Borenstein has specific interest in lower extremity sports injuries, trauma and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He has expertise in total ankle replacement, ankle arthroscopy, flatfeet deformity, hallux valgus (bunion) deformity, and arthritis of the foot and ankle.

Industry Leadership
Dr. Borenstein has written numerous articles in prominent journals such as the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, the Journal of Orthopedic Trauma, Foot and Ankle International, Arthroscopy, and the Journal of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. He is also a reviewer for Foot and Ankle International. Dr. Borenstein is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society.
